The Role
The LSE School of Public Policy equips students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies. We are an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.
We are now seeking a full-time Programme Manager to work on the MPA in Data Science for Public Policy degree programme and the international MPA Double Degrees, as well as supporting the wider portfolio of SPP degree programmes. The MPA in Data Science for Public Policy is a 2 year degree programme launched in September 2023 and the MPA Double Degrees launched in September 2021 with additional partners joining in 2022 and 2023. The department also runs a two-year Master of Public Administration and a 9-month Master of Public Policy degree programmes, in addition to Executive degrees.
The Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in the smooth and efficient running of the degree programmes, working closely with the degree programme’s academic staff and working collaboratively as part of a small team, reporting to the Head of Programme Delivery. This role will also play a key part in the delivery of student events, working with fellow programme managers and other colleagues to plan an annual programme of events.
Candidates for this post should have exceptional skills in the organising, planning and delivery of multiple concurrent activities with excellent attention to detail. Candidates must have programme administration or programme management experience, preferably at the post-graduate level. Candidates will need to demonstrate experience of working under pressure, initiative, effective team-working and professionalism. It is a key requirement to resolve problems in timely fashion, recognising both customer service towards students and faculty, and LSE’s regulatory requirements.
The ability to provide accurate and timely advice is essential, as are excellent communication skills, both written and oral. The post requires outstanding levels of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to contribute to an exceptional student experience. The ability to work with limited direct supervision and to use initiative is also essential. Experience of managing events or similar activities would also be desirable but not essential.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
