The University of Nottingham is seeking an individual who works to high professional standards to lead the strategic development, management and delivery of careers and employability provision to one of our faculties. The successful candidate will be joining a large service which is committed to working together to combine the skills, insights and experience of teams working directly with students, academics, employers and other stakeholders, with those of our enabling teams to develop and deliver a consistently high level of service and professional standards.  

The successful candidate will be expected to drive collaborative and effective partnerships right across the University requiring liaison at a senior level with Faculty and School representatives. Working with colleagues from across the Careers and Employability Service, this is a role that will set the agenda for the Faculty Careers and Employability team and seeks to innovate to benefit our clients and exceed expectations of Students, the University, Academic Schools and Employers. The person appointed will be responsible for managing a team of Careers and Employability colleagues to regularly review the delivery of careers education, information advice and guidance to ensure best use of resource in meeting schools and Faculty aims. You will also contribute to the overall operation and effectiveness of the Careers and Employability Service in support of university priorities.  

Candidates may be experienced in career development, professional development, HR, teaching or have significant relevant sector-based experience where they can demonstrate a track record of innovation, success and encouraging the achievements of others. Candidates should have proven leadership, operational management, strategic and business planning experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role will involve occasional evening and weekend work, according to the needs of the service and will also require occasional travel around the UK.

This is a part time, permanent position working 21.75 hours per week. Hybrid working options are available, with an expectation that the successful candidate will spend 60% of their time working on campus. The role will typically start at the bottom of the grading.
