Job Summary

We are seeking a Research Operations Manager to provide overarching project management support for the a portfolio of grant awards held by The Respiratory Electronic Health Record group, led by Prof Quint. The person appointed to this important research support post will work across a portfolio of projects and have a key role in helping the scientists deliver the research programmes of the group. 

The successful candidate will preferably have MSc or PhD level qualifications in a scientific discipline preferably relevant to the objectives of the research group, and demonstrated skills and experience in administration, project management with strong demonstrable financial skills. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing general administrative support in addition to being responsible for project management of collaborative projects led by the PI
  • Experience of managing large project budgets preferably over multiple stakeholders
  • Strong experience in liaising and working effectively with a wide range of staff from different disciplines, including the ability to negotiate effective input from staff in centralised services and those external to the College
  • Organise and coordinate seminars and workshops
  • Track and monitor spend on Research group budgets and grants
  • Process invoices, orders and expense claims in a timely manner

Essential requirements

  • Project management qualifications, experience with finance systems
  • Experience of writing scientific reports and presentations
  • Strong experience in report writing including identifying and editing appropriate scientific, descriptive and financial information from diverse sources as well as reports
  • Strong experience in liaising and working effectively with a wide range of staff from different disciplines, including the ability to negotiate effective input from staff in centralised services and those external to the College

Further Information

This post is full time, fixed term for 24 months in the first instance and you will be based at White City Campus.
