ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
We have a strong commitment to hybrid working to give our staff the flexibility to work in a way that better suits their lifestyle. The team is able to work remotely or at our dedicated bookable HR office located on our Holloway site. We are highly committed in the ongoing further development, support and progression of our HR team.
ABOUT THE POST
Having recently expanded the team and invested in a new Oracle based integrated HR, Payroll and Finance system, we are now seeking an experienced HR Administrator to join our team of HR professionals , assisting in the delivery of a high quality operational Human Resource management service to Schools and Departments of the University.
You will assist the Principal HR Adviser, HR Operations Manager, HR Officers (HRO) and HR Advisers (HRA) in the delivery of a high quality operational Human Resource management to Schools and Professional Service Departments and will have some experience of working in a similar role in a large and complex organisation, preferably in Higher Education.
You will carry out routine administrative tasks, drafting routine correspondence, liaising with prospective employees by phone and in writing, and using the University’s current online Career Site, MyView and the HR/Payroll System (Oracle). You will also be working closely and flexibly with other HR Administrators to ensure consistency in service provision, offering assistance when other HR Administrators are working at peak times and where capacity in the team allows it, and to ensure the workload across the HR Administration Team is balanced out.
To be successful, you will be educated to degree level, ideally with an HR qualification and will have a willingness to learn and a commitment to continuing professional development.
You will need to be a confident communicator, with the ability to build professional working relationships at all levels. The ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a calm and focused approach, is essential.
Interviews due to be held in week commencing 17 March 2025.
