About us
UCL is London’s Global University and ranked 9th in the world (QS World University Rankings 2025). A new Institutional Strategy is underpinned by 6 key enablers all of which require good data management and reporting (operational and strategic). SRS Student Operations is responsible for the student record – its management and quality – as well as the principal functions supporting the student lifecycle (e.g., exams, timetabling, curriculum information). The division is also responsible for student statutory reporting to external stakeholders (e.g., HESA, OfS, GMC). There is a close working relationship between SRS Student Operations and SRS Education Services as well as with the Office of the Vice-Provost (Education & Student Experience). Timetabling Services is responsible for the planning of the academic timetable process and allocation of centrally bookable space across 11 faculties (300,000+ hours of teaching each academic year).
About the role
The Timetabling Services Manager role sits within Timetabling Services (SRS Student Operations) and will be responsible for supporting the successful implementation and improvement of UCL's timetabling service. In addition to delivery, the role holder will contribute their timetabling delivery expertise to other Student and Registry Services (SRS) teams, the Timetabling Product team (including the wider Student Lifecycle Change Portfolio) and Estates teams to meet the evolving needs of the institution.
About you
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of timetabling delivery on a large scale, and experience of working in a large, complex and decentralised organisation with a significant number of diverse stakeholders. A strong problem-solver, you’ll be able to synthesise complex ideas and data and apply these accordingly, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role includes line management of Timetabling Coordinators, and the ideal candidate would have managerial and/or supervisory experience within a service setting.
