LSE Cities is preparing to launch a pioneering European City Leadership Programme (ECLP) for mayors and their teams. The programme will include world class executive education delivered both virtually and in-person at sites across Europe. This essential capability-building work will be accompanied by rapid-fire research and experimentation, informed by mayors' real-world challenges to generate practical resources and data for city leaders.
We are now seeking to build a team of experienced professionals to help get this exciting new initiative off the ground. This is a pioneering programme with the potential to create deep impact on the capabilities of European local governments, which the Project Manager for Mayoral Leadership have the chance to shape from its very inception.
The Liaison Manager is a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with cities participating in the programme. The post-holder will work directly with city leaders to ensure they get most out of this learning experience. The role will involve overseeing communications with all city participants taking part in the ECLP, including mayors, senior officials and city teams participants and overseeing city recruitment, admission and onboarding to the programme. The post-holder will act as the key point of contact between participating city mayors, their teams and the delivery team and will lead the delivery of at least three multi-day in-person convenings per year for various sub-groups of the programme cohort, including at least one convening in London, one in Berlin and one in another European city.
Candidates should have significant professional experience of working as an administrator and proven experience of liaising and managing relationships with high-profile stakeholders. Candidates should also have experience supporting the organisation of events/workshops/seminars and the ability to problem solve and look for win-win solutions to administrative challenges, even under time pressure.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
