About Us

Based at our Stratford campus in the newly formed Office of the Health Campus, our service supports the collaboration of UEL’s innovative research and teaching within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience. The Hospital and Primary Care Training Hub is a European first in end-to-end simulated health and social care practice which offers the latest technology, including VR (virtual reality) and responsive mannequins. It showcases cutting-edge, innovative inter-professional practice, and simulation technologies aimed at enhancing career-first learning. The goal is not only to address health inequalities but also to supply the healthcare sector with practice-ready professionals.

About the Job

We are seeking to appoint a Hospital & Primary Care Training Hub manager to support the Technical Support Manager in providing highest quality, multi-specialist technical expertise and support to students, staff and external partners and coordinate technical resources for the provision of high quality support for teaching, research and enterprise activity. To carry out the day to day management of a small team of staff, support practical classes, student project work, workshops, research and income generation activities. The post holder will play a central role in the maintenance and operation of teaching and simulation laboratories including associated facilities in accordance with current Health and Safety regulations.  

About You

You will be educated to degree level and can evidence a commitment to continuous professional development within simulation, preferably within the healthcare field. A Health & Safety, or management qualification would be advantageous, as well as achievement of Professional Membership or Chartered status in a relevant area.

You will have experience in managing a simulation centre with experience and practical knowledge of a wide range of audio-visual and information technology. You will have experience in management or supervision of staff within a UK setting, and have a solid understanding of health and safety work practices and its implementation.

You will have excellent organisation and communication skills, commitment to customer service, be a good team player, willing to work flexibly to changing timetables and work patterns and have a drive for excellence in everything that you do.
