Research Administrator
Hours of work: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Contract type: Fixed term until July 2025.
Salary: The starting salary will be from £26,038 up to £30,505 per annum in Grade 5, depending on qualifications and experience.
We are seeking to appoint a new team member to join our Research and Knowledge Exchange Office as a Research Administrator. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to staff and Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) (e.g. PhD students). They will also provide administrative support for staff in relation to research ethics, training, internal funding allocations and organising meetings and events. PGRs related duties will cover admissions, record keeping and the organisation of events. They will also support research committees as Secretary, managing papers and taking minutes.
The successful candidate should have strong proven administrative skills and experience in the Higher Education sector, ideally working in research support. Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to exercise initiative, inform improvements to our processes, work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment and have excellent communication and digital literacy skills (to include MS Office). The ability to work to deliver a high level of service to staff and PGRs is a critical aspect of the role, as is a professional and flexible approach to work and good organisational and time management skills.
