We are seeking to appoint an experienced Policy Engagement Officer, working within the Research Strategy and Governance team, in the Research and Innovation Directorate, facilitating our commitment to strong social engagement and world class research.
You will work closely with the Head of Research Strategy and Governance and Head of Marketing Services in undertaking research, analysis and providing co-ordination and administration activities, with particular focus on the policy impact of Plymouth’s research. Specifically you will be responsible for providing policy engagement support and provisions, through arranging external speakers, workshops, coaching sessions, and developing in-house toolkits and online materials. Responsibilities will include proactively identifying external opportunities, horizon scanning, campaign planning and content scheduling, regular copywriting, delivering a programme of key events, commissioning and editing blog posts, and growing online and social media presence.
This is a varied and stimulating role with the opportunity to take on departmental leadership and representative roles including attending external research information and policy meetings on behalf of the University.
The portfolio of projects this post will support will be in response to the needs of the University or driven by external requirements, they may include ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and contributing to the next Research Excellence Framework submission.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week and is fixed-term to cover a period of maternity leave which is anticipated to be up to 12 months. Remote working is available up to 3 days a week.
