This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
The Horizons Institute brings internal and external stakeholders together to shape radical new responses to the ‘wicked problems’ that confront the world. The Horizons Institute facilitates opportunities for colleagues to generate new ideas for productive collaboration, to develop global partnerships based on mutual benefit and reciprocity, and to develop their interdisciplinary leadership skills and research experience.
The Horizons Institute leads two flagship programmes, our Challenge Theme Network programme, and the Global Academy, and facilitates a suite of other activities and events that respond flexibly to the interests of, and opportunities presented by, the communities that we work with. All Horizons Institute opportunities seek to encourage new ways of interdisciplinary and cross-sector working that are rooted in the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Horizons Institute are recruiting an Institute Administrator to support Horizons activity centrally and across our two flagship programmes.
You will have experience of working autonomously in a dynamic environment and experience of providing administrative assistance to support meetings and events. You will be flexible with positive communication and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility, independence and initiative in all areas of the role, with the ability to manage varied tasks and be proactive in your engagement with colleagues and partners, such as Challenge Theme Network Co-leads.
This position in the Horizons Institute is for a fixed term to complete specific time limited work and is due to end on 31st July 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed on an ongoing contract with the University and therefore when this activity comes to an end, will be deployed into another role within the University.
