The role
The School Executive Administrator role is based in the School Executive Team and works closely with the School Executive Administration Manager to provide high-level support to the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies.
What will you be doing?
Key duties include (but not confined to) supporting the school as a first point of contact for enquiries and as a liaison point for all relevant internal and external contacts. These may be queries related to HR processes, finance and facilities matters but may encompass other areas.
The Executive Team is a core service on campus; therefore the role holder would need to be available to work on campus across the week to ensure the team can provide campus cover Monday to Friday. The team cover the service on a rota basis, during which each team member works 3 days on campus. There will be busy periods across the year (or in the case of staff absence) where additional campus days may be required. These will be notified in advance by the Executive Administration Manager.

Applicants must have a proven track record in administration. They will have excellent customer service and communication skills and must be able to form effective relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels. They must be highly organised, with a flexible, proactive and supportive approach to work, with a friendly and positive disposition.
Excellent working knowledge of Office 365 tools including SharePoint groups and intranet, is required to support teams in delivering their core service.
Experience of the following tools is desirable; web administration, using purchasing systems for goods and services, knowledge of HR policies in practise.
Whilst the role holder will have delegated tasks, they will also be expected to organise their own day-to-day work to meet clear objectives, providing an effective service.
