The Astrophoria Foundation Year programme seeks to appoint a Tutor for the Astrophoria Foundation Year Preparation for Undergraduate Studies (PUGS) course. 

This role is equivalent to 0.65FTE but will be 1FTE in term time (30 weeks). The post holder will be responsible for delivering the PUGS course. The AFY courses comprise the Preparation for Undergraduate Studies Course (PUGS) alongside subject specific teaching (the AFY Courses are CEMS (Chemistry, Engineering and Materials Science); Humanities (Classics, English, History, Theology and a selection of associated joint courses); Law; and PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics)). The post holder will produce and deliver the PUGS course material and set and mark relevant summative assessments. The teaching will be delivered both to groups and individual students and an applicant would benefit from being able to demonstrate experience of both settings. 

The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
