Job Summary

The PWI is enhancing its commitment to delivering high-quality, relevant, and professionally recognised technical education within the railway engineering sector. We are seeking an experienced senior engineering professional to lead this critical area as the Head of Technical Education.

The successful candidate will oversee the PWI’s schedule of technical courses, manage a team of skilled lecturers, provide quality assurance, and validate new courses, all of which will play a key role in guiding railway professionals towards Engineering Council registration at EngTech, Incorporated, and Chartered Engineer levels.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and/or experience of the railway engineering industry, along with a strong understanding of academic award processes in Higher Education, including course structure validation, accreditation to ECUK specifications, AHEP, and UK QAA standards. They will also bring proven expertise in strategic management, business development, and leadership, with a commitment to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion within the sector.

The role will be full time or job share with flexible hours, working from home with extensive UK and some international travel.
