Hours: Full Time

The University of Roehampton is recruiting two Mental Health Advisers to join our vibrant Wellbeing team. The department supports student retention, achievement and satisfaction by providing a range of services to enhance student wellbeing and ensure that all students have access to support appropriate to their needs. The Wellbeing Team comprises wellbeing advice and guidance, mental health support and interventions, warden support for students living in halls of residence, and short-term counselling. The service makes a key contribution to the University’s mission to support all students, whatever their background, to reach their full potential.

The Mental Health Advisers will join our team as expert clinicians responsible for the co-ordination and management of complex mental health student cases. The role involves managing a caseload and supporting and initiating crisis and longer-term interventions for students with mental health symptoms and diagnoses, many of whom present as high risk.

We are looking for two mental health professionals who are passionate and motivated, with a naturally collaborative approach to service delivery. As a Mental Health Adviser, you will provide expertise and guidance to members of the wider Wellbeing team as well as the university community on managing and supporting students with complex mental health issues.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and team player, able to prioritise effectively and demonstrate a high level of competence managing risk and supporting students with complex mental health presentations. We are seeking candidates with experience in a mental health clinician role.

We are London’s Campus University, based on a beautiful 54-acre parkland campus. This short video will give you a taste of life at our wonderful campus and its excellent facilities.

Professional Services staff on grade RU07 and above have access to the University’s Retirement Savings Group Pension Plan, a defined contribution scheme, provided by Royal London.  Our full range of benefits are available here.
