We are seeking a talented Policy Officer to join our Research & Innovation team.
You will be interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and research and capable of building productive and respectful relationships with thought leaders. You must have strong analytical skills, with excellent written and verbal skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality evidence-based work at pace. Your proactive approach, drive, and determination to enhance engineering innovation in the UK and foster diversity and inclusivity within the organisation and the team will be of paramount importance.
Who are we looking for?
As a Policy Officer, you will develop and deliver high-quality evidenced policy advice for engineering research, innovation and entrepreneurship via a fast-moving mix of reports, workshops, events, briefings and responses to consultations and inquiries. You will work with some of the country’s best innovators, researchers and business leaders to ensure their experiences inform policy development so that the UK has a dynamic and thriving ecosystem for engineering research and innovation while going the extra mile to build our public profile.

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office-based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.
