About the role:
Applications are invited for an experienced Office Manager to join the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. This is a key role within the Institute which supports the Institute Director and facilitates the smooth running of the Director’s Office through a diverse range of activities including: management of Executive Board Meetings, project management, and support for Director’s Office finance and HR activities. It also involves the line management of the Director’s Office PA and two Administrative Assistants/Receptionists. You will join a friendly team to deliver high-quality support as part of a busy and vibrant office at an exciting time for the Institute in which we work to drive forward research that contributes to implementing health system change, improving population health, and nurturing social equity.

About you:
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have significant experience in an office management or executive support role, including the support of high-level decision-making boards. You will be a motivated and proactive individual who can provide essential and effective support to the Institute Director and their Office Senior Leadership team. You will have the ability to interact confidently with staff, visitors and students at all levels and to act as first point of contact for the Director’s Office. You will have the ability to work independently and proactively with a flexible approach to work and problem-solving.

Excellent standard of written and oral English communication skills are essential, as are computer literacy and experience of successful and effective decision making. You will demonstrate an ability to pay close attention to detail and have well-developed interpersonal and administrative skills. You will have line management experience with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

As part of our commitment to flexible working, this permanent position can either be made up of 1 FTE or split via a job share, with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements. The post-holder will be expected to work 2-3 days on campus.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to more than 450 staff, 100 PhD students and c500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
