We are looking for an experienced, practical and enthusiastic individual to fill a wide-ranging post in a small and friendly team that ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the Anthropology Department.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Department, working closely with members of the faculty and professional service team to ensure that we are offering our students an excellent quality of education and an outstanding student experience.
The postholder’s specific responsibilities include supporting and enhancing student experience through the delivery of academic and extra-curricular activities, monitoring the Department’s compliance with quality assurance measures, and administering the Department’s undergraduate exchange programmes.
The role also involves daily contact with students, including providing face-to-face, email and telephone support. In order to offer appropriate help and advice, including to students who may be struggling, you will need good interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and explain the School’s and the Department’s policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an administrative role, be highly numerate and able to work with data in spreadsheets. They will also possess excellent record-keeping, organisational, communication, customer service and IT skills. The role involves frequent use of spreadsheets to manipulate and transfer data, and the successful candidate must be capable of doing this accurately, for instance when applying weightings to calculate overall course marks.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
