About the Role
Applicants are invited to apply for the above post within the Translational Cardiovascular Therapeutics group (Ken Suzuki laboratory). Suzuki’s interdisciplinary laboratory conducts a range of translational research to develop advanced stem cell therapy for heart failure. The project, in which you will be engaged, is exciting cutting-edge translational research in myocardial repair and regeneration therapy funded by the British Heart Foundation and others. You will be able to enjoy this exciting project and obtain precious experience and skill/knowledge in this area in the internationally competitive laboratory. The work will be based in the William Harvey Research Institute (Charterhouse Square Campus, London). This Institute has a strong record in preclinical and clinical therapeutic development and has recently made a large expansion forward in cardiovascular research.
About You
The successful candidate should hold a postgraduate degree (or close to completion*) and/or relevant professional qualification in life science or medicine. You will have demonstrable experience in the research fields relevant to cardiology, cardiac surgery, stem cell therapy and/or translational research, a collaborative style and experience with data sets to initiate reporting and analysis.

The project you will be engaged in will be taken place in the William Harvey Research Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. This Institute is a world-leading centre in translational medical research, and all required facility and equipment required in the project is in place within the institute.

This is a full-time position with a two-year fixed-term (01/09/2025-31/08/2027).

*PhD candidates who are close to completion and have not yet received their PhD award, will be appointed on a salary of £37,889 - £38,483. On providing a copy of the formal award letter or award certificate, the salary will increase to £41,510.
