About the Role
This is a dynamic and varied role within the cancer prevention research team, ideal for someone with strong project management, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills. As a Clinical Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of clinical trials, ensuring smooth data management and regulatory compliance. You will also play a lead supporting role in patient and public involvement (PPI) activities, working to strengthen engagement strategies and enhance the Centre’s PPI infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic management of research programmes, supporting grant applications, budget management, and research coordination. Public engagement will also be a key aspect of your role, including overseeing the Centre’s blog and social media channels.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised individual with experience in clinical research management and a good understanding of patient and public involvement (PPI) in healthcare research, with the ability to oversee multiple studies, coordinate diverse teams, and manage timelines effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with researchers, clinicians, stakeholders and public contributors. Experience with data management, grant applications, and budget administration would be highly beneficial. Your passion for cancer prevention research, will make you stand out from your peers.
The role is covering parental leave (up to 13 months).
About the Institute and Centre
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to more than 450 staff, 100 PhD students and c500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis forms part of the WIPH and brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, cancer screening and detection and early diagnosis across three units including the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group.
