About the Role
Applications are invited for a Clinical Training Fellow in Inflammatory Bowel Disease education with a focus on intestinal ultrasound. The post will be based in the Centre for Immunobiology, at Queen Mary, University of London as well as The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. In conjunction with Barts Health NHS Trust, we have international reputation for translational research and clinical excellence in inflammatory bowel disease. We have initiated a point of care intestinal ultrasound service and aim to expand this with the support of this post. The Clinical Training Fellow will work in both the Blizard Institute and Barts Health NHS Trust to support training in intestinal ultrasound as well as its use across our portfolio of clinical trials. You will also undertake IBD clinics and endoscopy lists within the Trust depending on your experience alongside providing focused training in intestinal ultrasound to members of the clinical and research teams.
About You
Working clinically with the full multidisciplinary team, you will have an ability to promote high standards in education, clinical care and research. Certified as a trainer by the International Bowel Ultrasound Group with experience in gastroenterology and an interest in IBD, you will have wide clinical knowledge and well developed clinical skills. Your engaging style will deliver training that is clear and concise.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry is organised into 6 separate Institutes, of which the Blizard Institute is one of the largest, with personnel of c400, financial turnover of c£50 million per annum; and research expenditure of over c£14 million per annum. The Institute is organised into Centres, which though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
