About the role
The Retail Operations department is responsible for generating income and profit for the Bodleian Libraries, through our on-site shops, online at bodleianshop.co.uk, and through our wholesale business.
Bodleian Retail is going through an exciting period of growth and development. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our small team and contribute to the ongoing success of the department.
You will deliver a world-class experience for our customers, interact with visitors from a variety of backgrounds and provide excellent customer service, using product knowledge to inspire our customers and maximise sales.
You will follow operating procedures and cash handling regulations to ensure shop security, whilst creating a welcoming environment for our visitors.
This is a permanent, part time post working 18 hours a week. Some weekend and bank holiday working will be required. The role does not support remote working.
About You
You will have previous retail experience in a customer-facing role and be a confident team player who thrives in a busy retail environment.
You will enjoy helping and interacting with people at all levels and strive for a positive experience for all customers.
You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with a pro-active approach to resolving problems and good attention to detail.
