The opportunity
At UAL, we believe the world needs creativity. As a social purpose university, we are dedicated to nurturing creativity and using it to solve global challenges.
Our 10-year strategy is built on a commitment to making the world a better place through collective creative endeavour. As Communications Executive, you will play a vital role in sharing our progress with staff and students and engaging them in this mission.
This is an exciting opportunity to join UAL’s first university-wide communications function. You will collaborate with talented colleagues and share remarkable stories from across our six colleges, including LCC and its community of approximately 1,000 staff and 5,000 students, as well as its world-renowned alumni. You will help deliver UAL’s communications and engagement plan, supporting key objectives such as attracting students, embedding social purpose, and enhancing staff and student experience.
In this role, you will work closely with the LCC communications team and UAL-wide communications function to source, plan, schedule, write, and distribute various communications. You will engage with stakeholders across LCC to create compelling content. Your responsibilities will include:
Based at LCC in Elephant and Castle, this role includes occasional travel to other UAL sites in London and some home working. You will report to the LCC Communications and Engagement Manager.
About you
We seek a communications expert with a passion for writing and an eye for detail. You should have experience in communications and engagement within complex organisations and a solid understanding of digital content publishing and accessibility best practices.
We are audience-first and evidence-led, so understanding how to measure the success of communications activities and structure effective campaigns is also necessary.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role; both in being a proactive team player, sharing information, and working across teams as part of our integrated communications structure. You will also engage directly with staff and students, to support different areas of the College.
We are UAL

With curiosity, imagination and intent we make work which creates lasting change for people and our planet. London is core to who we are, a place where we meet and share ideas with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
