The role
The Senior Project Manager facilitates the delivery of the Rolls-Royce Composites University Technology Centre (UTC) and manages all administrative aspects such as planning, reporting, finance and budgets, recruitment and procurement.
This critical role act as a key point of contact for internal and external researchers, collaborators, funders and support staff linked to the UTC which sits within the larger Bristol Composites Institute, the UK’s largest composites-focused university research group with 200+ members and a dedicated operational team. The Institute has a focus on collaboration between academia and industry, including strong partnerships with the National Composites Centre, and international universities, e.g. TU Dresden..
You will be be part of the Bristol Composites Institute Operational Team (13 members) within the Faculty’s Industrial Liaison Office, which is a team of ~50 professional staff in similar roles who meet regularly to share best practice and offer mutual support.
What will you be doing?
Provide reporting and forecasting expertise. Monitor budgets, oversee procurement of equipment or services, and project staff recruitment; ensure critical deadlines are met and compliance with relevant policies and legislation including Export Control.
Support the development and implementation of strategies and business plans. Including future grant bids, identify funding opportunities and support the preparation of applications for new awards.
People management. The Rolls-Royce UTC Senior Project Administrator reports to the Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will also deputise for the Bristol Composites Institute Manager ad hoc.
Additionally, this role will work closely with the Bristol Composites Institute Operational team and other members of the Industrial Liaison Office to support the overall objectives of the team.
