About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to deliver major capital projects within the Estates Enabling Plan which supports Queen Mary University of London Strategy 2030.
Working closely with the Assistant Director and the Capital Projects Team you will be responsible for the successful implementation of a portfolio of diverse major projects at the University. Projects will typically be complex in nature and above £5m in value and will include development, construction, refurbishment, engineering and infrastructure projects.
About You
You will be the project lead, delivering first class projects, demonstrating effective and efficient project and stakeholder management from inception to completion.
You will have the ability to take a strategic view of projects, analyse challenges and options and drive effective solutions to completion. You will have the ability to think commercially and strategically – quickly assess and quantify short and long term impact of changes, deal with ambiguity and uncertainty and be able to evaluate options to meet business expectations and provide maximum value.
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent senior-level experience in the property, development, construction or engineering sectors, having delivered capital projects in the range of £10-£50m. Experience of delivering laboratory projects would also be beneficial.
You will have a thorough knowledge of the design process, construction project management and contract administration, supported by demonstrable experience in the planning and delivery of major construction and/or infrastructure projects in complex organisations.
