We are excited to be looking for two new Admissions Officers to join the University of Nottingham Admissions Office to provide a first-class admissions and recruitment service.

Post 1: Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; 

Post 2: Hours of work are part-time (29.00 hours) 

Please specify in your application the preferred number of hours. These positions are fixed term until 01/08/2025

As an Admissions Officer, you will make decisions on applications, working closely with colleagues in academic faculties and professional services. You will have regular opportunities to contribute to the development of open and transparent application and admissions processes, reviewing procedures and contributing to the development of admissions systems.

As the successful candidate, you do not need prior experience in Higher Education, but should be a motivated individual with experience in providing outstanding customer service. We’re also looking for applicants with the following skills: 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with staff of differing levels across the University 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with applicants from around the world 
  • A team player who can manage a varied and demanding workload 
  • Ability to proactively work under pressure to meet deadlines, as well as under minimal supervision 
  • Excellent IT skills 

You will also need to have knowledge of relevant legislation including GDPR and experience of dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Important Information 

The role is based in the Student Recruitment team at the King's Meadow Campus. The Student Recruitment Team includes Admissions and Data, Customer Engagement, and Widening Participation and Outreach. 

Please note due to the operational requirements of the admissions office it is not possible to take annual leave during A level and GCSE results time, this is usually for two weeks in August. 

The department supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective across different working environments.
