Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS)

NDORMS are seeking to recruit a Senior IT Analyst to join the IT team to help play a crucial part in supporting its valuable research and teaching activities. As a Senior IT Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical assistance to end-users based across the NDORMS institutes. Your expertise and knowledge will ensure the efficient functioning of the organisation's IT Support services and infrastructure and enable smooth operations for all members of the department. You will serve as a point of escalation for technical challenges and will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and resolving various IT-related problems.
 
In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues from the first line support officers and end-users. You will analyse recurring issues and identify root causes to implement permanent solutions and prevent future occurrences. You will be responsible for supporting and enforcing IT security policies to protect the organisation’s data and infrastructure and assets.
 
You will be educated to A level standard (or equivalent) and will have proven experience as a First/Second line IT support or a similar role, demonstrating technical proficiency. You will also demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a Windows and/or macOS environment. You will have a working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting tools in combination with strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose complex technical issues.
Previous experience working in higher education, the University of Oxford or the NHS and knowledge of platforms such as JAMF, Sophos Cloud, ZENwork and/or Papercut is desirable.
