We’re looking for an ambitious mixed methods researcher to join our research team on our new Global Disaster Risk Management Research Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with an international group of experts, designing innovative participatory research and developing training methods for local teams collecting data across Asia, Africa and Latin America. You’ll play a key role in shaping research that will have a direct, real-world impact on both people and animals affected by climate related disasters.
To succeed in this role, you should have a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, along with proven experience in mixed methods research, including expertise in data analysis. Additionally, you should have proven experience in training others on research methodologies and experience in communication to an academic and non-academic audience. A positive, can-do attitude is essential, and you should enjoy collaborating with colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
At Brooke, we celebrate diversity and the creative new ideas it brings. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds, in particular global majority candidates, candidates from a social mobility background, disabled and neuro-diverse candidates, and candidates under 25 as these groups are currently under-represented at Brooke.
We are aware that studies have shown that women and global majority candidates are less likely to apply for a role if they feel they do not meet the full criteria of the job description. If you feel you meet the majority of the criteria, we would love to hear from you.
We offer a variety of flexible working options to best support our staff and to ensure our working practices are as inclusive as possible.
