ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
Our Schools Offices support the staff and students of our six Schools. Each School Office is managed by an associated School Business Manager.
ABOUT THE POST
The School Business Manager’s primary function is to ensure that administration of the student-related academic cycle including induction, enrolment, assessments and retention activities are managed in line with the University processes and regulations. This role supports key planning activities for the academic Schools, and manages the interface between the Schools and other areas of University administration by commissioning support from central services when needed.
The School Business Manager is responsible for managing the relevant School Office and associated School Officers, providing strong administrative leadership to ensure a consistently high-level service is offered to staff and students, through continuous process improvement, embedding knowledge of the academic regulations and pro-active development and implementation of new systems.
Through a formal reporting line to the Head of School Offices, administrative activities are coordinated and aligned with both School and University requirements.
As members of this central team, the School Business Managers may be called upon individually to take a lead on University-wide projects, often working outside of their assigned School.
