Would you like to play a key role in an innovative Public Engagement with Research (PER) programme that connects University of Oxford researchers with local communities?
At the University of Oxford our researchers are helping to address some of the world’s biggest challenges: disease prevention, climate change, clean energy, artificial intelligence and more! But as well as tackling these global issues, our researchers are also looking at how their research can be used to support local communities.
The Science Together: Oxford Researchers and Communities Programme is an important step towards recognising our responsibility as a civic institution to channel our influence and resources towards not only what we are good at, but also towards what we can be good for.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the Science Together programme as a Science Engagement Officer (Maternity Cover). This initiative brings together researchers and communities in Oxford and Oxfordshire to co-develop collaborative projects aimed at addressing local issues. It aims to foster meaningful collaboration, enabling both researchers and community partners to share expertise and create lasting impact and relationships through knowledge exchange and mutual learning.
This role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for community engagement. You will help coordinate events and activities, provide logistical support, and ensure the smooth operation of the programme. You will work closely with researchers and community partners to support the development of inclusive and innovative activities, contributing to real-world solutions.
While remote working is possible, the nature of the role requires that you are based in or able to travel to Oxford when required, especially for face-to-face community engagement and event coordination.
Applications should be submitted online (via the ‘Apply’ button above) and include a CV and a supporting statement.
Deadline for applications is 22 November 2024 at 12pm. Interviews are expected to be held w/c 2 December.
For any questions or further information, please contact Daisy Hopkins at daisy.hopkins@mpls.ox.ac.uk.
We look forward to receiving your application.
