The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. 

We are looking for a talented researcher to join our team. You will be working on a Wellcome Trust funded project on alcohol-related dementia, investigating the degree to which alcohol-related dementia has a unique clinical profile, genetic susceptibility and molecular basis to other types of dementia. You will be responsible for managing your own academic research, planning and implementing analyses for quantitative data from a variety of sources, as well as contributing ideas for new research project and develop ideas for generating research income. 

To be considered, you will hold, or be close to completion of, a relevant PhD/DPhil in one of the following subjects: quantitative, genetic or molecular epidemiology, medical statistics or statistical genetics. You will have strong quantitative analysis skills, using statistical programming packages such as R, have experience of study design and data analysis. You will also have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
