About the Role

As a User Insight Analyst (innovation and evaluation), you will be pivotal in helping King’s Digital make effective strategic decisions and innovations in our online courses and deliver on our ambitious vision for high quality online education.

This varied role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with UX, Learning Technology and Learning Design and other professionals to master complex data, understand its context, and identify potential areas for high-impact improvements. To support this work, you’ll need to help manage learning analytics, user behaviour research and production process data according to best practice, working alongside other data professionals in the team.

As part of enabling colleagues to integrate data into their own decision making, you’ll create dashboards and reports to allow them to access insights independently. and support the team with growing its digital literacy capacity to make the most of these opportunities. Operating in a cross-disciplinary environment, your ability to communicate insights, provide extracts of relevant data and support the documentation and elaboration of improved processes and approaches will be critical to support colleagues who are also passionate about providing an engaging and transformative online experience to our students.

This is a full time post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

Essential criteria

  • Degree or qualification in Business, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences (e.g., psychology, anthropology, linguistics), or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in a user analytics role.  
  • Proven excellent analytical skills with the ability to proactively gather data from multiple sources and analyse this to produce actionable insights. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and experienced in the use of analytical tools for developing reports and dashboards such as Excel, PowerBI and others. 
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement, and championing data-led changes for efficiency and maintaining of quality and user experience. 
  • Proven understanding of benchmarking, KPI setting and evaluation methodology best practice and pitfalls. 
  • Demonstrably excellent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Proven experience of enthusiastic collaboration to achieve successful outcomes. 
  • Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in statistical programming (e.g., SQL, R, Python) 
  • An interest in online and technology-enhanced education  
  • Experience with learning analytics policies, strategies and structures 
  • Enthusiasm for sharing the importance and key principles of data literacy, data governance, and data analysis tools across disciplines.
