About the role

As a Senior Digital Education Officer, you will support and strengthen the development & delivery of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) within the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy at King’s College London, working closely with the King’s Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning team.

Your responsibilities will include supporting e-learning innovations that enhance the user experience, as well as training & supporting academic and professional services staff. The successful candidate will have a passion for technology-enhanced learning and embody a culture of continuous improvement.

The Senior Digital Education Officer will support high-quality customer service delivery and ensure that the faculty’s strategic TEL projects are delivered in line with institutional goals and successfully implemented.

The role requires collaboration with both academic & professional services staff to deliver a world-class student experience and ensure that a student-centred approach is embedded in the team.

The role is based at Bush House on the King’s Strand Campus though you may be required to travel to other campuses on occasion.

This role is currently offered on a hybrid basis, & the role-holder will spend part of their working week on campus & part of the week working remotely.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills & experience: 

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in a technology-enhanced learning role.
  • Proven experience in supporting Moodle or similar virtual learning environments, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating & delivering training workshops.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience in supporting a range of educational technologies and assessment tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to meetings, discussions, and collaborative projects.
  • Experience producing self-help user guides and instructional materials for academic and professional staff.
  • Experience developing and supporting online and digital learning content, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in Higher Education, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this environment.
  • Knowledge of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles and accessibility standards in digital learning.
  • Working knowledge of video editing software and other media tools used in creating digital learning materials.
  • A good understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for enhancing digital learning platforms.
