We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Student Affairs Officer to join our Student Services Directorate. This new role involves designing and implementing School policies and processes to support student conduct and academic progress decisions, ensuring alignment with University and HE sector policies and relevant legislation. The Student Affairs Officer will work across various programmes, supporting students as they transition into the educational environment and culture of Said Business School.
 
Key responsibilities 
  • Provide expert guidance on student conduct issues, addressing concerns to maintain a positive study environment.
  • Ensure compliance with University statutes and procedures regarding harassment, misconduct and discipline.
  • Lead the implementation of School-level Student Conduct Panels, chairing panels and producing outcome letters.
  • Investigate and conclude complex student conduct issues, maintaining accurate casework notes and evidence.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to identify trends that shape the student experience.
You should have knowledge and understanding of student casework, a strong understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality requirements, and the ability to apply complex policies and procedures. The role demands patience and excellent communication skills for working with students and colleagues, as well as sensitivity to diverse identities and support needs in line with the Equality Act.
