A vacancy has arisen for the position of Executive Support Administrator in the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD). This is a varied and interesting role, with the post holder working closely with key academic staff and responsible for providing high quality administrative support to the School. The ability to form strong working relationships, be pro-active and highly organised in a busy environment are essential to succeeding in the role.

We are recruiting a high quality, professional administrator to provide support to the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD). The role will be focused on administrative and support tasks, specifically delivering excellent levels of service and support to a Head of Department for one of the School’s Departments (Animal Sciences or Sustainable Land Management).

The role holder will require a good understanding of relevant systems and processes and will work under regular supervision.  A particular focus will be placed on providing support to the Head of the Department and key academic staff in the management of research portfolios, including financial tracking of projects. You will also work within a busy team and so working well as part of a team is essential to succeed in the role.

You will be fully supported in your role by a highly skilled team that are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and very experienced. We are looking for the following essential criteria.

You will have:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience of working within a busy office environment in an administrative role with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet set deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve team goals
  • Ability to ensure effective liaison and excellent communication with a range of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with on-line processes, web-based systems and content management
  • Adaptable to the changing needs of the department and the team
  • Experience of minute-taking and good numeracy skills
  • Experience in supporting the organisation of events and training
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
