The People and Culture (Human Resources) section’s purpose is to develop, advise and support University senior staff, managers and support employees on best people management and leadership practice through the development of employment strategy, policy, procedures and services that support the delivery of the University’s strategic goals, balancing the needs of the employees and the needs of the University.

We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll and Pensions (Employee Reward) Team Leader to organise and manage the University in-house payroll process, ensuring the timely and compliant running of the University payrolls and pension submissions.

Duties of the role
You will line manage the Payroll and Pensions Administrators. Key responsibilities of this post include:

  • To be responsible for the monthly reconciliation of all pension contributions and the timely payment to the appropriate Scheme Administrator together with accompanying paperwork.
  • Responsible for the timely and compliant running of the University payrolls and pension submissions.
  • Provide support on payroll legislation and pension scheme rules to the wider HR service and ensure they are up to date on the latest scheme rules that may impact initiatives they are working on.
  • Day-to-day management of 4 x Employee Reward Administrators, undertaking regular 121’s, agreeing and reviewing individual objectives and performance.
