0.5FTE job share, Monday, Thursday plus another half-day

The Careers Centre at the University of Reading is seeking a Careers Information and Events Assistant to work as part of a job-share arrangement in our busy team. This varied role is key in planning, coordinating and delivering a range of careers events including careers fairs, employer presentations, an annual workshop programme and bespoke events.

We need someone who excels in customer service and can manage a varied workload and conflicting priorities. The successful candidate will focus mainly on events but will also support the wider work of the team, specifically spending a few hours a week staffing our reception services.

Working in a Careers Centre environment, opportunity for development is at your fingertips and the role would suite a recent graduate, current PhD student or well as more experienced individuals.

You will have:

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel;
  • Attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Organisation skills and the ability to prioritise;
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment;
  • Interest in graduate recruitment and a motivation to go the extra mile to help our students work towards their dream job.

The remaining half day can be decided on to suit both parties. After completion of a successful induction, the half day may be completed remotely, with 2 days in the office.
