Role Summary

At the University of Birmingham, employability is an enduring principle that ensures our students have the resources and competencies to maximise all their future career opportunities and choices. That’s why we’re recruiting an Operations Administrator in Careers Network, to help maintain, scale up and deliver high quality services that provide work experience, and enrich students’ personal and professional development, in readiness for life beyond university.

This new role will support the University’s innovative employability strategy, assisting the Work Experience team to deliver internships, short voluntary placement programmes and work-based learning opportunities in and outside of the curriculum, that allow students to explore their futures with confidence, and creates value for the organisations we work with.

The Work Experience team within Careers Network is ambitious - seeking to make a difference for all students. You will help operationalise the team’s plans, utilising your technical and administrative skills. You’ll play a central role enriching the student experience and students’ employability, assisting key programmes such as ‘B-Experienced’ and ‘Gateway to Work Experience Bursary’. You’ll process and analyse data for effective monitoring and evaluation, making suggestions for improvements, and will act as a key point of contact to students, employers and colleagues.

Working in a dynamic, collaborative and learning environment, you’ll be part of a department that welcomes change, and cares for your development too. We believe there is no such thing as a typical member of staff and that diversity is a source of strength that underpins the exchange of ideas, innovation, and debate. We warmly welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to fostering inclusiveness.
