About us
The Department of Experimental and Translational Medicine sits within the UCL Division of Medicine. It provides a collaborative cross-disciplinary environment for basic scientists, clinicians, and engineers taking innovative approaches to understand the mechanisms driving health and disease, as well as develop novel, effective therapeutic approaches. Our mission is to identify the means to sustain and promote health and to find new treatment for disease. The goal of the Centre for Obesity Research is to understand the pathophysiology of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus in order to identify and develop new preventative and therapeutic strategies. The Centre is internationally renowned for leading the field of gut hormone research. Human studies are underpinned by detailed phenotyping including gut hormone profiling and functional brain imaging coupled with genetics, with the aim of developing personalised therapeutic strategies.
About the role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual for this post which is based in the Rayne Institude, UCL Division of Medicine, London. The primary role of the post holder is to assist with the efficient collection, processing, validation and quality assurance of data from clinical trials
About you
• Should have a good understanding of data protection regulations in healthcare research. • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, • Experience working with databases/data sets and data entry and data management within these, ideally within a medical research environment. • Handle confidential information in a sensitive and effective manner. • Should have the ability to know when to confer with colleagues or refer matters onwards. • Ability to problem solve and plan ahead. • A good general education to GCSE/A level, NVQ level I/II administration, or equivalent or acquired substantial relevant experience. • Have the ability to work without direct supervision; to manage own workload and display good organisational ability. • Excellent IT shills including email, spreadsheets, word processing, databases and the internet and working knowledge of MS office suite. • Have a meth odical and accurate approach to work requiring attention to detail.
