This role provides an exciting opportunity to work, in collaboration with a lab in Tuebingen, Germany, on a BBSRC funded project entitled ‘A robust pipeline for characterising multiple conformations of proteins in solution’. You will express and purify several target proteins, and collect NMR data, most importantly a carbon shift NOESY but also the standard protein structure experiments (NOEs, RDCs, hydrogen bonds etc). You will set up a computational pipeline for calculating trial structures and selecting the minimal set of conformations needed to describe the populations in solution. As a member of the research group you will have roles in lab and spectrometer management along with attending conferences, presenting talks and posters, and collaborating in writing up the research for publication.
Applicants must have a PhD in structural biology (or a related discipline), along with experience in protein NMR. Computational skills, record keeping and experience of working as part of a team are also essential.
