We are inviting applications from clinicians with an interest and experience in oncology to apply for the CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre funded Breast Programme Clinical Fellow position. The successful applicant will be embedded within the Precision Breast Cancer Institute (PBCI) and support the development and delivery of innovative clinical trials in patients with breast cancer, focusing strongly on early breast cancer and related translational research projects.
The post is only open to medically qualified individuals, who have experience in oncology clinical work, and who have already been involved in the development and delivery of clinical or translational research, in collaboration with clinical academics and/or industry collaborators.
The successful individual will have a prominent role in the treatment and care of patients with cancer, as well as recruitment to and in the development and delivery of breast cancer clinical trials. They will have the opportunity to develop expertise in clinical trial design, interpretation and implementation of breast cancer genomics and its application to the clinical management of patients.
The post will be held in the Precision Breast Cancer Institute, under the direction of Prof Jean Abraham (Professor in Precision Breast Cancer Medicine, Academic Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology and Co-Lead of the CRUK Cambridge Centre Breast Programme) and based, with honorary clinical status, at the Cambridge University Hospital in the Oncology Department.
The PCBI team crosses multiple disciplines for the delivery of translational clinical trials, collection of high-quality multi-modal data as well as bioinformatics and machine-learning research teams. The clinical fellow will work across these teams in delivering PBCI studies and research projects as well collaborative opportunities with pre-clinical lab-based researchers through the CRUK Cambridge Centre and externally to the University and CUH.
