About you

This role requires expertise in big data analysis and hydrological modelling, complemented by advanced statistical skills using R and Python. It involves monitoring and modelling the effectiveness of green urban infrastructure in mitigating water pollution and urban flooding, making field research sampling or laboratory experience beneficial. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, independent individual, capable of logging, cleaning, sharing, assessing and interpreting data, as well as writing efficiently for publication in top-tier journals. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports and meet deadlines is essential. The position entails collaboration with PhD students and postdocs, including organising and participating in field experimental campaigns.

The appointee will work closely with other team members, particularly a local PhD-level mathematical innovation research specialist, external project collaborators, and may undertake short visits to partner institutions for collaborative research activities.

The candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary environment, with flexibility to adapt to various projects and activities as required. Experience in team collaboration, public engagement, and working with diverse partners is essential. Strong written and spoken English skills are required, and a UK/EU/international driver’s license is a bonus. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from underrepresented groups in academia
