The University of Liverpool seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the CHESS (Civic Health Equity: from Silos to Systems) project, funded by UKRI. The project assesses the health impact of social and economic support programs across Liverpool City Region, aiming to improve health equity through data-driven policy improvements. The role is part of the Health Inequalities Policy Research Group (HIPR) and the Civic Health Innovation Labs Data Action Research Team, collaborating with the Heseltine Institute for Public Policy.
The researcher will conduct qualitative research, including interviews with service users, practitioners, and policymakers, to evaluate interventions' effectiveness and their broader health impacts. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, literature reviews, stakeholder engagement, and supporting policy translation. The role also involves developing research plans, ensuring ethical compliance, managing research coordination, and disseminating findings through publications, reports, and conferences.
Key tasks include project management, liaising with stakeholders, securing funding, and supporting the integration of research findings into public health improvements. The role requires collaboration, analytical skills, and experience in qualitative research methods. Based in Liverpool, the researcher will attend regional and national meetings. The post is supervised by Professor Ben Barr and Sue Jarvis.
The post is available for 2 years in first instance.
Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant appointed to this role will be expected to work more than 60% on campus.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
