The Role

We are seeking an interim Director of Property to cover maternity leave for a 12 months fixed term contract.

The Director of Property is responsible for commercial and residential property let to third parties and occupied by the university. In addition the role leads the conferencing, events and hospitality activities to optimise income and provide great service to students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the University properly discharges its responsibilities as the freeholder of a number of strategic properties in Bloomsbury and elsewhere and as landlord to a number of University of London federation members and other tenants.
  • Maximise external earnings from the University’s estate, improving asset value and supporting commercial operations.
  • Provide strong leadership to the Asset and Space Management teams, coaching and sharing knowledge, and championing collaborative working to deliver customer-focused services across the Asset and Space Management portfolio of activities
  • To provide leadership of and direction for Conferencing, Events and Hospitality activities, ensuring that they positively contribute to the aim of providing an exceptional experience to students, staff, and visitors

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
