The University of Southampton is dedicated to creating a positive impact through innovative, socially responsible initiatives that address complex societal and environmental challenges. As a research-intensive, world-leading institution, we rank among the top 1% of universities worldwide and are committed to driving change through enterprise.
We are seeking an organised, forward-thinking Social Enterprise Manager to join our Careers, Employability, and Student Enterprise (CESE) team. Reporting to the Head of Student Enterprise and Events, you will shape and manage the University’s Social Enterprise programme under the Social Impact Lab (SiL). You will create a collaborative environment where students and graduates can explore social issues and develop impactful solutions— including the creation of social enterprises aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
About You
You are an inspiring change-maker and strong communicator with a background in social innovation or community development. Your organisational skills and experience in social enterprise will drive our programme forward. Responsibilities include one-to-one mentoring, organising activities, managing the daily operations of the Social Impact Lab, and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience supporting or creating social enterprises in an educational context is especially valuable, alongside a commitment to empowering students to address social issues with innovative, sustainable solutions.
The ideal candidate has experience in programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and team management. Knowledge of social enterprise, the charity sector, or sustainable development will help you inspire students and foster a learning environment focused on positive social impact.
What We Can Offer You
We provide a supportive environment that values flexibility and encourages work-life balance through hybrid working. Benefits include a generous holiday allowance, additional University closure days, access to the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), subsidised health and fitness facilities, and a range of discounts.
At the University of Southampton, we believe that diversity and inclusion are vital to our success.
We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and welcome those who will help us nurture our diverse community.
