We Are The People are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant for our Disability and Sexual Expressions strand of research. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the We Are The People team and the Community Research partner to support co-produced disability research projects.
About the Role
As our Postdoctoral Research Assistant for Disability and Sexual Expression, you will provide support and encouragement to execute a community-led research project whilst championing creative, alternative and accessible methodologies. You will undertake advanced research on the efficacy of Disability and Sexual Expression, developing innovative and accessible methodologies. The role involves mentoring Community Research Partners, co-leading Bath Spa University ethics processes, and co-producing high-quality research reports in creative and accessible formats. You will support problem-solving, ensure smooth project handover, develop external networks, and advocate for the project through ethical and engaging dissemination. Additionally, you will contribute to academic reporting, uphold Health and Safety standards, and participate in relevant training.
About You
You will be a proactive and experienced researcher with a PhD or nationally recognised expertise in disability studies, equality, inclusion, social justice, or creative research methods. You will have extensive experience in co-produced, inclusive, and participatory research, mentoring new researchers, and producing high-quality outputs. Strong interpersonal, networking, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of barriers faced by disabled people. You should be a flexible team player with excellent ICT skills, the ability to manage substantial projects, and a commitment to securing future research funding.
