We are now looking for a Senior SEO Officer to join our Swansea campus on a full time, Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

Develop and lead the implementation of the University’s search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy. Use specialist knowledge to implement and improve ranking, visibility, quality traffic levels and conversions on centrally managed areas of the University’s website, as well as YouTube. Working with and advising colleagues from across the University on best practice, increasing awareness of SEO within the business as a whole. Report on, support, and provide training to colleagues who write for the web across the University. Work with people with varying levels of understanding of SEO.

The successful candidate will use their specialist expertise to deliver the SEO strategy and work plan which will improve SEO practices across the university’s corporate website and YouTube channel, delivering increased/higher quality traffic to key web pages.

Be a key member of the marketing team, using specialist knowledge to ensure SEO is considered and effectively implemented at all stages.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Senior SEO Officer, you will need:

• A degree level qualification or equivalent plus considerable experience in a relevant role(s).
• Significant demonstrable experience of working in a digital marketing role, ideally in services marketing.
• A demonstrable track record of delivering SEO projects to meet objectives, on time and on budget.
• Strong technical understanding and demonstrable experience of SEO, including experience of link building, seeding, keyword analysis, development of on and off page content and competitor analysis.
• Demonstrable experience of detailed reporting on all projects against objectives, including recommendations to further improve outcomes.
• Demonstrable experience of complex data analysis using various tools including Google Analytics, and YouTube Analytics, interpreting results to inform future activities.
• In-depth understanding of social platforms.
• Experience of working with brand and delivering content to emphasise brand values and principles.
• A good understanding of:
  • HTML
  • HTML5
  • CSS
• Demonstrable experience of using complex enterprise level Content Management Systems.
• Demonstrable experience of gathering business requirements to develop strategy and reporting.
• Proactive approach to keeping up to date with industry developments and innovations.
• Practiced at thinking creatively to find quality solutions to technical and non-technical problems.
• Experience in preparing briefs, briefing agencies, managing internal and external third-party relationships, ensuring projects run on time and on budget.
