The  St Cross Building, built in 1964, is undergoing a three-phase refurbishment, and the Law Faculty is currently planning to lead on the third and final phase of this project, with a view to taking over the whole building when the English Faculty and English Library move out at the end of 2025.
 
A fixed-term Building Project Officer is required to provide administrative support to the key stakeholders in the feasibility stage of the refurbishment. These stakeholders are: the Law Faculty (including the centres, PSS staff, room holders and Facilities staff); the Law Library and library users (including students); other users of the building; and our project consultants. The postholder will provide vital co-ordination between the Law Faculty, the Senior Responsible Owner in the Social Sciences Division, and the Project Board convened by Estates Services (which will include a Programme Manager and a Building Project Manager). The postholder will be a key member of the administrative team and report to the Law Faculty Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
 
The successful candidate should have administrative experience supporting a feasibility or building project of a similar or equivalent type; experience of monitoring large amounts of data and information, and able to convey key information clearly and succinctly; effective interpersonal skills at all levels; able to demonstrate tact and discretion when required; a flexible approach to work, with a supportive and co-operative attitude; effective organisational skills and efficient working methods and be able to manage and prioritise a number of competing tasks and handle large amounts of information.

The post is fixed term until 31 December 2025 and part-time (0.6 FTE). The Law Faculty supports hybrid working, and currently requires staff to be on site at least 40% of their working week.  The postholder will be based in the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.
