The role

The Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Bristol wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting (with Chinese) from 1 March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. What will you be doing?

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to further enhance the Department’s professional postgraduate training profile and to contribute to teaching across our MSc Interpreting and MA Translation programmes. You will develop and implement a world-leading curriculum of professional linguist training, incorporating cutting edge developments in industrial practice and technological advancements into your teaching. Your own industry experience as an interpreter and translator will be invaluable for students in enhancing their own skills profiles and considering their future careers. With support from the University’s relevant teams you will liaise with external partners in matters such as student internships and work placements where relevant.

You should apply if
