About the Department
This post is in the GCP team of the Governance section of the Joint Research Management Office. The Joint Research Management Office (JRMO) provide a range of research support services to both Queen Mary University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust. The Governance Section of the JRMO are responsible for the oversight of clinical research projects sponsored by or hosted at the Trust and University.
The GCP team are responsible for ensuring that projects comply with the principles of GCP, applicable regulations and sponsor requirements. The GCP team provide support, governance and regulatory advice and oversight for all clinical research and researchers in the Trust and University.
About the Role
The purpose of this job is to monitor clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) Clinical Investigations and non-CTIMPs sponsored or hosted by Queen Mary University of London or Barts Health NHS Trust. Working under the supervision of the Research Governance and GCP Manager, you will ensure compliance with GCP (Good Clinical Practice), the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 (and all subsequent amendments), the Clinical Device Trial Regulations, the General Data Protection Regulation, the Human Tissue Act 2004, and sponsor requirements.
About You:
The ideal candidate must have prior knowledge of UK CTIMP, ATMP and Clinical Investigation legislation. A working knowledge of CTIMP compliant data-capture systems and Sponsor monitoring activities (including drug accountability and source data verification and pharmacovigilance report review) are also essential. The role includes some training delivery so the ability to prepare and deliver confidently and excellent communication skills are needed. You will be required to work across all Barts Health and Queen Mary Campus’ and occasionally may be asked to travel further afield.
