Faculty / Directorate
This role sits within the DMU Widening Access Team, Future Students at De Montfort University, but day to day you will work as part of the Pathways Uniconnect team, to deliver outreach activity as part of the collaborative Outreach Project funded by the Office for Students (OFS). Both the DMU Widening Access team and the Pathways Uniconnect team’s primary remit is to form positive relationships with local schools, colleges, and community organisations, working with under-represented groups delivering a range of initiatives and programmes for pre-16 students. Engaging face to face with potential students, raising aspirations and promoting the opportunities higher education provides.
Role
DMU is excited to advertising for the Pathways Outreach Coordinator role.
Reporting to the Uniconnect Pathways Manager, you will work to support groups across the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland area that need additional support to make informed decisions about future study and deliver outreach activity, under the direction of the management team at Pathways and with on occasion to the request of partners within community or public sector organisations.
Day to day you will be supporting the promotion, preparation and delivery of student-facing widening participation activities. Most importantly, you will be crucial in supporting the evaluation of our outreach efforts, in tracking, monitoring and ensuring data is captured accurately and in a timely manner.
The role is ideal for anyone wanting to pursue a career in widening participation and access outreach. Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st July 2025, Full-time (part-time will be considered).

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, imaginative and an enthusiastic team player, have excellent communication and organisation skills, and you’ll have a natural flexible and positive approach to your work. An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role.
